The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of perceived value of work on the job satisfaction and turnover intention of care workers in nursing homes. The second purpose was to investigate the mediating effect of caring emotion between perceived value of work and job satisfaction and turnover intention. For this purpose, survey studies were conducted on care workers of nursing homes in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. Data analysis showed that care workers with a higher perceived value of work had higher job satisfaction and a lower turnover intention.
Also, in the relationship between perceived value of work and job satisfaction, and between perceived value of work and turnover intention, it was revealed that anger had a partial mediating effect among caring emotions. Based on the findings, program development to increase job satisfaction and to reduce turnover intention of care workers and the development of policies to improve working conditions was discussed.
